DESCRIPTION

ADDONMODULAR POWER STRIP

ADDON is a modular power strip designed to transform with the user's lifestyle, transcending the limitations of traditional power strips characterized by fixed number of sockets and uniform shapes. ADDON was developed based on functional convenience and spatial aesthetics in mind. The core feature of this product is its expandability and flexibility, enabled by a magnetic connection system. Users can instantly add modules as needed to increase the number of sockets, eliminating the hassle of unplugging devices or purchasing entirely new power strips due to a shortage of outlets.

Furthermore, users can freely change the connection order and configuration of modules to suit any situation. For example, bulky adapters can be moved to the edge to avoid interference, or frequently used modules can be placed within easy reach, allowing users to design their own optimized usage environment. Additionally, this system improves the inefficiency of having to discard an entire product due to a single socket failure; with ADDON, only the malfunctioning module needs to be replaced, establishing an economical and eco-friendly maintenance system.

Beyond simple functionality, ADDON aims to be an interior piece that seamlessly blends into any space. The design maintains a clean and concise form factor that does not disrupt the interior aesthetics. Unused modules can be stored vertically in a "Stack" form using magnetic connection, thereby preventing the loss of modules and maximizing space efficiency. By being able to detach unused sockets, it fundamentally eliminates the risk of fire caused by dust accumulation and prevents potential electric shock accidents involving infants.

ADDON offers powerful versatility that blurs the boundaries between countries and devices. ADDON provides a Universal Adapter Socket module compatible with plugs from over 150 countries. This eliminates the inconvenience of purchasing additional adapters and solves the aesthetic issue of bulky adapters ruining the look, thus maintaining ADDON's unique, simple design even when using electronics from overseas. It also includes separate modules for USB Type-A and Type-C alongside standard AC sockets, allowing for the smart use of mobile devices without the need for separate chargers.

In terms of usability, ADDON provides intuitive interaction. Each module features a Push-Lock mechanism where the entire top cover functions as a switch. Pressing the cover turns the power on, and pressing it again turns it off, allowing for individual power management that efficiently cuts off standby power. The power status can be immediately checked visually through a LED indicator.

ADDON also is equipped with an active Safety Logic mechanism that prioritizes user safety. To prevent overload and ensure a safe power supply, the design limits connection to a maximum of five modules. The device is engineered not to operate if the number of modules exceeds five, or if the grounding pin is exposed because the ‘End Module’ is not connected. When such a hazardous situation is detected, a Red LED lights up and the power is simultaneously cut off, helping the user intuitively recognize and resolve the issue.
